Have you seen...

...the ginormous (good word - a favourite with my kids - opposite of tinsy) florists' buckets we've just added to the website. They're flipping gorgeous when stuffed full of summer flowers. I got this lot from my favourite man on our local market. We had a long chat about peonies; don't you find it annoying that when you buy them in tight bud, they never open, just turn into rock hard brown balls!

Anyway, the Olympic torch is coming down our very road on Thursday! We will have ringside seats from our upstairs sitting room windows - most exciting! I am doing Pimms and cucumber sandwiches and lots of friends are coming to watch - just hope I don't fall out the window in tipsy excitement! Will post pictures if I don't.

I am rather...

...delighted with all the new things we've just put on the website...http://www.decorativecountryliving.com/latest_arrivals/
Almost certainly coming home with me are a couple of these gorgeous lanterns.

They'll look perfect outside for summer parties and I can just see them at Christmas with sprigs of holly around the base of the candle.
I also love the simplicity of these glasses. Great to have on the dining table with a jug or carafe of water.

Hope the sun is shining where you are. Second attempt at Sports day tomorrow. First attempt was a wash-out.

Do you have...

...a "Chien Lunatique"? I know lots of you have been waiting for these lovely blue enamel signs to come back into stock. Well, they're here, so now you can hang one up in your  house to let family and friends that you have a crazy dog!

A bucket of...

...roses, to cheer us up on a cold, windy horrible June day.

Sniff sniff...

Nice!

I'm off to switch the heating on.

Monsieur Le P...

...has let us have another one of his totally gorgeous paintings. This one he's framed in a lovely old vintage frame and the colours are just heavenly. The background is duck-egg blue and the pinks in the tulip heads make them pop almost out of the painting. So, so beautiful. I love the way he seems to use a million different shades to convey one colour.

Only we won't tell him that. Don't want him getting big headed.

Are you joining...

...in all the Jubilee fun? The village here where the shop is looks great!

The Florists round the corner looks Jubilee-tastic!

We've done our bit here at DCL HQ...

...and we're even getting in the spirit back at Knox towers.

The shop will be closed next week, but fear not, all will be as normal on the website and there will be more treasure going on there in the next few days. If you need us, do contact us by email and we'll be back in the office as normal on the 12th of June.
Happy Jubilee one and all! X

Will you be...

...bedecked with Union Jack bunting for the Jubilee weekend?

I shall be doing my bit at Knox Towers. I shall be stringing some of our lovely bunting outside the house. Well, you know what I'm like - I do tend to get a bit misty eyed at royal occasions! Must be my age...
