Monsieur Le P...

...has let us have another one of his totally gorgeous paintings. This one he's framed in a lovely old vintage frame and the colours are just heavenly. The background is duck-egg blue and the pinks in the tulip heads make them pop almost out of the painting. So, so beautiful. I love the way he seems to use a million different shades to convey one colour.

Only we won't tell him that. Don't want him getting big headed.

Are you joining...

...in all the Jubilee fun? The village here where the shop is looks great!

The Florists round the corner looks Jubilee-tastic!

We've done our bit here at DCL HQ...

...and we're even getting in the spirit back at Knox towers.

The shop will be closed next week, but fear not, all will be as normal on the website and there will be more treasure going on there in the next few days. If you need us, do contact us by email and we'll be back in the office as normal on the 12th of June.
Happy Jubilee one and all! X

Will you be...

...bedecked with Union Jack bunting for the Jubilee weekend?

I shall be doing my bit at Knox Towers. I shall be stringing some of our lovely bunting outside the house. Well, you know what I'm like - I do tend to get a bit misty eyed at royal occasions! Must be my age...

Don't you just...

...love this little French wall cupboard we've just added! The fabric behind the chicken wire is just heavenly.

Knox Towers has...

...a new resident.

I can see she is going to be an excellent excuse for work avoidance. I've just spent 2 hours crawling around on the kitchen floor playing with her.  Don't be fooled by that look of innocence though - she's already attacked a pile of washing and tried to get into all the kitchen cupboards.

I thought you...

...might like to look at some pretty pictures.

Firstly, the pot of Lily of the Valley I have on my patio.

Secondly, a bunch of sweetly scented lilac plundered from the huge tree behind my antique dealer friend Andrew's workshop. I do it every year. I might as well; when I turned up this morning he greeted me cheerfully with "Have you come for the lavender?" Bless 'im.

I can't tell...

...you how much I love this salon sofa.

In another life I would perch daintily on it in the Morning Room and sip tea from a bone china cup (floral of course). Or I might recline on it in lady-like manner, with the back of my hand to my forehead, when things got too much and ask to be brought my smelling salts.

Anyone else wish...

...it would stop flipping RAINING! Sorry to shout.
Here's a picture of the apple blossom on our kitchen table to cheer us.
